I’ve been sewing since I was a child, having made clothes sewn by hand for my dolls from scraps of fabric and ribbon that my Mother would give me. I would often sneak to use her sewing machine if it had left out for herself… much to her dismay! As I got older my Mom taught me how to make my own clothes and she was a very tough and exacting teacher which at the time I found exasperating  and I’m sure that’s what she thought that of me.  After high school in the 80’s I some how got a great job at Ottawa’s largest advertising agency and was mentored by many creative minds and art directors. Learned very quickly that everything is due yesterday and it better be done right the first time. Back then I loved the stress of the deadlines and the piles of work, I can’t say that any more.
